Intellectual marathon ”Improve your English”

Game purposes: to develop unprepared speech of pupils. To develop creative abilities of pupils. To cultivate interest to subject studying. To generalize the regional geographic knowledge of pupils received at lessons of English. Educational tasks: During creative, independent, individual and group work with didactic materials to consolidate knowledge of pupil of the studied subjects and to broaden the general horizon Developing task: to develop ability to work in collective and to make the joint decision; to develop positive personal qualities (responsibility, goodwill, feeling of mutual aid); to develop and train attention ,memory, thinking. Visual aids :On a board the name of the game “Intellectual marathon”, flags of the English-speaking countries, a map of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the rules of the game, a square with figures, the list of competition. Lesson procedure:

I.Organization moment. Greeting of the captains. Quiz master: Good afternoon, children and our guests! I’m very glad to see you here. Now we shall organize a competition called ”Improve your English!”. Two teams will take part in a game of the most quick-witted and the cleverest. Quiz master: Today all of you have a good chance to improve your English during the game . As there is no computer in the classroom, there is a competent jury to count the point. Now I’m going to teach you how to play this game. The game has 4 contests, they are: 1.Introduce. 2. Golden subject 3. Proverbs and saying 4.Poem

II. Main stage. Quiz-master: And now we come to the 1st contest of the game called “Introduce” You must introduce your team. I wish success. Be active, honest and helpful! Please the first team.
