ORGANIZATIONAL MOMENT T: Good morning, dear pupils. Sit down, please. Get ready and let’s start from tongue exercises. Repeat:

funny, sunny, honey [o] short, tall, small RECITING Teacher: Listen and repeat the poem. Teacher/Pupils together ( with gestures): Short or tall Big or small Shadows dance Upon the wall.

Middle 30 minutes

MARCHING Learners get into lines and as a warmer get learners marching in time on the spot. As they march shout out in military exercise fashion instructions e.g. Touch your head and touch your nose etc. PERFORMANCE Again as a movement warmer, invite groups of 3 or 4 learners to front of class. Give groups instructions to perform actions ‘like’ e.g. walk like a chicken, eat like a mouse, laugh like a monkey, sing like a fish.

DEMONSTRATION 1. Teacher demonstrates words that learners will hear in instructions in teaching of simple steps of a traditional Kazakh dance e.g. one two three… forward, back… turn around, all together.

2. Learners listen and watch as you instruct a few learners in basic steps [without music]. Repeat the process several times with different groups. Then move to instructing a larger group with music. Change groups.

3. Get some learners to perform/walk through dance saying words in time with steps. Repeat with different groups. DANCING Get learners to perform dance with music, incorporating elements from previous lessons e.g. badges and hats/masks made. Learners say words in time with steps.
