The theme of the extracurricular lesson: Happy Halloween

Carrying out time: 40 minutes

Aims of the lesson: To develop and practice (depending on stages chosen ):

*vocabulary: Halloween, skeleton, bat, witch, black cat, spider, pumpkin, ghost, vampire;

*integrated skills: listening, speaking, reading

* to bring up pupils to respect each other and to be attentive, active, polite and friendly.

The lesson is held for the purpose of increase the interest of pupils in studying of English. In this lesson , learners will practice Halloween vocabulary , word speech, and sing the songs, play the Halloween game, speak very well! For homework, they can write about Halloween in their country on the Learn English Kids site or try to do a worksheet.

The procedure of the lesson

Organizational moment. The teacher’s greetings, introduction speech.

T: -Good morning pupils and our respectful guests!

-Welcome to our lesson. Today we have extracurricular open lesson.

Warming-up. Children pay attention to the board. Teacher draw picture of ghost and asks questions like:

- What can you see on the board?

-Is it a cat or a dog?

-Why did I draw this picture?

- Yes, you are right. The theme of our today’s lesson – Happy Halloween

Task 1

Children translate the words and spell them. After that they find the pictures.

Task 2. Children sing the song “ Knock Knock, Trick or Treat?”.

Knock knock, trick or treat?

Who are you? I’m a ghost. I’m a little ghost.

Knock knock, trick or treat?

Who are you? I’m a witch. I’m a little witch.

Who are you? I’m a monster. I’m a monster.

Task 3.

-OK, now pupils let’s tell your poems! Are you ready?

Children tell their Halloween poems.

First pupil: If I could build

A time machine;

I’d spend each night

Second pupil: Trick or Treat ! Trick or Treat!
