Use no more than 3-4 phrases to express the opinion about the film

Some learners will be able to:

Know 90 % of vocabulary related to film genres;

Use 5-6 phrases to express the opinion about the film.

Our lives are competitions. Our president mentioned that we should be competitive in all spheres of life. Today’s lesson is the competition too. Let’s give a smile to each other and begin our competition!

Our objectives our this lesson are:

Learn new words connected with the film genres;

Do comprehension tasks on reading;

Describe favourite film genres, films using new words.

The main part of the lesson:

Pre - listening:

Dear learners! Let’s work in pairs. Look through this new words for 30 seconds and try to learn them by heart.

Pupils work with differentiated worksheets.

Listening:

The next task for each group is to listen to as many audio files as possible in 1 minute, and identify film genres. After that you will change your places and check your answers.

Assessment criteria:

To listen to as many audio files as possible in 1 minute.

To identify film genres correctly.

Task 1: Less able learners will do led in and main input exercises by scaffolding. They will win if they have 10 right answers out of 14.

Task 2: More able learners will do practice 3,4 by scaffolding. They will win if they have 12 right answers out of 15.

Fixing new knowledge

More able learners work in pairs. They should choose one of the situations and present it in front of the rest of the class the following questions.

Less able learners prepare their presentation in the form of the poster.
