Theme of the lesson: Comparatives and Superlatives

Learning objectives:

Systematization and consolidation of students' knowledge of topic "Degrees of comparison ";

Studying the characteristics of adjectives, forming "degrees of comparison" with subsequent use in speech;

Formation of practical skills of the names of adjectives in the degrees of comparison;

Use a growing variety of adjectives and regular and irregular comparative and superlative adjectives on a limited range of familiar general and curricular topics

Lesson objectives:

All learners will be able to:

to read new words correctly, spell and use them in speech; differ adjectives;

repeat and reproduce simple utterances; match words with definitions, read the text and answer the questions;

Most learners will be able to:

Demonstrate understanding of the degree of comparison,

Find the information you need in the texts; understand the meaning of adjectives in the text, read them correctly.

Some learners will be able to:

Use critical thinking skills and a wide range of topical vocabulary while discussing texts; make up their own sentences using degrees of comparison

Psychological attitude:

- Imagine that you have a sunny bunny in your hand, feel its warmth. Share this warmth with your neighbour on the desk - look into your eyes, smile. While working in the classroom try to keep these "solar bunnies".

For a language workout, the teacher suggests reading the proverbs that are written on the board.

The chain is no stronger than it`s weakest link.

Better late than never

The teacher asks students to translate these proverbs and find analogues of this proverbs in Kazakh and Russian.

2. Updating of basic knowledge.

Guided discovery task. Didactic game “We are done!”

Teacher gives clear instructions:

- Put your chairs under the desks. Now turn to me. Team №1 “Stars”, team №2 “Rainbows”. Take markers. I`ll say one-tow-three and you will begin. “Stars”, this is your part of the board, “Rainbows”, it`s yours. What do you do? One person runs to the board, to one of these words writes comparative and superlative forms and comes back, give marker to the next person. Then you will go to the end of the line. If you finish everything first, you`ll say “- We are done!
