Many restaurants look for staff through word of

mouth, so do not hesitate to ask the managers of your favorite restaurants if they need any help. Working as a waiter or buzzer is a great way to meet people and practice your social skills. Waiters and buzzers often get good tips. The harder you work, the more money you earn! But this job can also become stressful and some customers can be very fussy.

Babysitting is definitely for you if you love being with children. Some of the pros are that babysitting jobs are compatible with other obligations like schoolwork and extracurricular activities because you can set your own hours. Besides, in areas where there are lots of kids, you will always find a parent who needs a babysitter. Babysitters are paid well for their time ($12-$15 an hour). But you must be well prepared for this job because it involves big responsibilities and dealing with children is sometimes difficult. Finally, kids get sick and are exposed to lots of viruses, so babysitters will often get sick too!

Retail jobs are highly coveted by many teens and many stores hire students looking for after-school employment. However, these positions can be hard…
