Warm- up: «USING PHOTOGRAPHS» Give each group a photograph centered on a larger piece of paper (e.g. a photo highlighting a controversial issue). Ask pupils to question the photograph and to record their questions around the outside of the photo. Questions can be used to stimulate further discussion. Alternatively, pupils might wish to generate ideas on an image by noting around it the thoughts, ideas and words which come into their heads whenever they see it for the first time. Start thinking
