Мақала ағылшын тілін шет тілі ретінде үйренушілердің тіркесімдік құзыретін дамыту мәселесін қарастырады. Ол мұғалімдерге оқыту әдістерін және тілдік қолданыс деректерін оқу мақсаттарымен байланыстыруға көмектеседі.

COLLOCATIVE COMPETENCE IN ENGLISH TEACHING METHODS
The article deals with collocative competence, emphasizes the importance of its mastery by students studying English as a foreign language. The author focuses on the importance of identifying collocations relevant to learning goals, the need for interaction between teaching methods and corpus linguistics in determining the frequency and dispersion of collocations.
Keywords: collocation, collocative competence, methodology teaching, corpus linguistics, frequency, dispersion, disciplinary variations.
Collocative competence is one of the highest levels of language proficiency that learners can achieve. At the same time, collocations are educational material subject to interference errors. The process of speech formation - both oral and written - should include strict control of the compatibility of words, and the main difficulty in creating works of speech is precisely the collocation juxtaposition of words [2]. Language use and speech formation are well-established processes, the production of a text is mostly realized through the use of relatively stable phrases, rather than individual lexical units. Some researchers ascribe to the speaker's collocative competence the same important role for equivalent culturally conditioned communication as the mastery of linguistic universals, for example, grammatical rules [7].
A significant impetus for the fact that collocations are gradually coming into the field of view of linguistic research was the concept of "the idiomatic nature of linguistic competence". Knowledge of collocations is not a “linguistic luxury”, it is an elementary necessity, since they contain linguistic originality. This can be easily confirmed by the example of bilingual communication: phraseological units were - in contrast to collocations - a problem of multilingual communication, since the speaker of the second language is forced in most cases to use a dictionary to understand their meaning. This has led to an exaggeration of the importance of phraseological units in multilingual communication. In earlier studies, we emphasized the need interdisciplinary approach to the study of phraseological units, which are the object of study of cognitive linguistics, cultural studies, and didactics [1]. However, despite the significant role of phraseological units, a student of a foreign language may well express himself without mastering the phraseological base. He can simply "avoid" her. As a rule, a foreigner is not expected to have developed phraseological competence, since the possibi
Some researchers explain that in English, as in any other language, there are many fixed, identifiable non-idiomatic phrases and constructions. Such groups of words are called recurrent combinations, fixed combinations, for example, commit a murder [5, p. 36]
B. Henriksen considers the definition of collocations and the degree of their transparency. Collocations are frequently repeated two- or three-word syntagmatic units, including both lexical and grammar words, such as verb + noun (pay tribute), adjective + noun (hot spice), preposition + noun (on guard), and adjective + preposition (immune to). Numerous studies of collocations have shown that even high-level language learners experience difficulties in using and developing knowledge of second language collocations. If the learner of a foreign language knows the meanings of the two lexical units included in the major catastrophe collocation, then it is completely transparent, and, accordingly, can be understood through the process of decoding lexical elements in their literal sense.
Other collocations are not so simple, being translucent (take a course) or opaque (take sides). The meaning of a translucent collocation is not as easy to decode as its literal counterpart, but on the other hand, it probably won't be as difficult to understand as an opaque collocation, which is idiomatic and cannot be understood based on its constituents [4, C. 32].
The frequency of collocations of nouns in scientific articles, their disciplinary variations is another little researched area, which is important because of the increasing number of researchers who are not native speakers around the world.…
