(T-S) The teacher greets the students and uses the strategy “20 questions” to start the lesson. Ss have only 20 questions to ask in order to discover the information. However, the student being questioned can only answer `Yes` or `No`. For example, student could pretend to be a character from a novel and the rest of the class have to guess which character it is.

T divides students into 3 groups with trees picture. (birch tree, pine tree and spruce tree)

Task 1

(T-S) (W) T shows birch-trees picture on the board and asks students ‘What is this?, What do you think about these pictures?’ Ss discuss about the trees with their group and answer the teacher’s questions.

FA: Traffic light

Task 2

(S-S) (G) T uses different resources to practice new vocabulary. Ss learn the words and drill the pronounciation. Ss write down in their vocabularies (optional). T gives tasks for each groups. The theme of the task: «The grove of the Dancing birches». The 1st paragraph for the ‘pine-trees’ group, the 2nd paragraph for the ‘birch-trees’ group and the 3rd paragraph for the ‘spruce-trees’ group. Ss read the text again and answer the questions.
