The theme: «Health care»

Aims of the lesson: 1. To develop oral speech, critical thinking and attention abilities, to practice group pair work and solutions of problems.

2. To teach students to work creatively and get deeply information about health care (memory, keeping fit, stress, eating habits).

3. To bring up students to take care of themselves keep the healthy way of the life, widen their knowledge about health care.

The type of the lesson: consolidation with the elements of module and critical thinking.

Visual aids: interactive board, slides, posters, colored pictures, proverbs, saying and quotations, printed materials, placates.

The stage of the lesson: I. Organization moment. 1. Organizing students to the lesson. 2. Greeting. 3. Reporting on duty. Teacher: Good day dear guests, teachers and students you are welcome to our open door lesson. Let’s divide the group into two groups. C and D I. Organization moment.

II. Warming – up.

T: I want to begin our lesson with a phonetic drill. Listen to me then we will read it.

1. Working on the poster.

T: Students look at the active board as you know we have learnt the theme “Health care” memory, keeping fit, stress, bad habits, eating habits. Today we are going to consolidate our theme:

HEALTH CARE

Now I want to listen to you. The students of group C come to the blackboard and tell us about you poster and the students group D come to the blackboard and tell us about your poster.

Presentation of Group C: S1, S2; Presentation of Group D: S1, S2; T: OK, you have listened the students’ work (speech) Group D: Have you got any questions? S1, S2, S3, S4. T: Your questions, please.

IV. Speaking.

T: We’ll speak on the

theme “Memory”. Students “How good are your memory?” Look at these numbers and objects for 30 seconds and try to memorize them. Who has the best memory? Which is more difficult memorizing numbers or words?

V. Agree and Disagree (on the theme keeping fit)

There are some ways of keeping fit. If you agree say A, if you disagree say D.

a. Not lift weights

b. Never use public transport

c. Wear a mask over nose and mouth

d. Go to bed early

e. Never watch TV

f. Keep to a diet

g. Have plants at home

h. See the doctor every month

i. Go to fitness club

T: Can you add some more ways of keeping fit to this list. Write down as many ways of getting and keeping fit as you can think of in three minutes. You ideas can be serious or fun (Don’t use the ideas on the active board)
