(P)Pre –listening

Learners fill the table with vocabulary. They work with their peers, and then they compare their answers as a whole group.

Differentiation: teacher may provide additional time for work with a dictionary

(I)Listening

Step 1: learners watch the story for the first time and they match characters’ names to their pictures.

Differentiation: less able learners may do it having Appendix 1 before their eyes. For more able learners could be a challenge to watch the story without having a look at the worksheet.

Step 2: Learners watch the story again and complete two more tasks: to put the sentences in the right order and recognise if the statement is true or false.

FA: teacher manages and monitors learners’ work and keeps reflective notes about learners’ performance and learning gaps.
