Lesson objectives

All learners will be able to use the alphabet to place the first letters of word in alphabetical order

Most learners will be able to understand some factual questions. Recognise with support common names and names of places; recognise the spoken form of a limited range of everyday and classroom words

Some learners will be able to read the CVC words and answer the questions.

Previous learning

Students have already known how to speak and read CVC words, count 1 to 20 and identify colours.

Warm – up.

(W) Repeat words about “This is the way” and pupils must match sentences with pictures.
