[G ] JIGSAW APPROACH

Teacher divides learners into 2 groups. First groups name is “Football” and the second groups name is “Baseball ”.

Teacher introduces the text about sports, for Football’s group teacher gives the text about Sport in Kazakhstan, for Baseball’s group, text about Sport in Great Britain. Learners will listen and read in groups, and underline the unfamiliar words and ask the questions.

Sport in Kazakhstan

Sport helps people to stay in a good shape, keeps them fit, healthy and makes them more organized, better disciplined in their daily activities and energetic.

Many sports are popular in Kazakhstan, They are: football, tennis, hockey, weight-lifting, track and field, basketball, volleyball, boxing, judo and karate, cross-country skiing, figure skating, climbing mountains, horse-racing.

Sport in Great Britain

In Britain, forty per cent of the population regularly play a sport. There are many differences between sport in Britain and in other countries. For example, skiing is not very popular in Britain as there are not many mountains. Skiing enthusiasts can ski in certain parts of Scotland or they go to Austria, Italy, France or Switzerland. Basketball and volleyball are not very popular in Britain, but many people play rugby.
