Beginning the

lesson

Greeting. Get students ready to the lesson by greeting them.

Pre-reading

Warm up. Guess the theme. Hot sit

Bring a chair to the front of the classroom and sit in the chair facing the class. Then I’ll put hat with a picture symbolizing the theme. The seated student will not know answer. Other students must say things related to that word in order to elicit that word from their teammate sitting in the hot sit. When the student which sit in the hot sit guess the word I’m voicing the topic.

Then I’ll give them new words with definition

Educated- a person who graduated institute

Rural – countryside

Military – soldier

Leader –the person who commands a group

Battle –fight between large armed

Several – more than two but not many

Include – take part

Actor/actress –a person who acting in films or in TV programs

Charity – the voluntary giving of help, money, to those in need

The United Nations- organization that helps those in need

Poor – (antonym) rich

Country – an independent nation with its own territory and symbols

I’ll explain the task. Play the recording with pauses for Ss to repeat chorally or individually.

Ss must give examples, make sentences with new words.
