Organizational moment

Teacher greets learners and sets the lesson objectives, learners take their places.

Warming-up: Teacher divide class into two groups, write the letters A to Z in columns down the board:

Each team comes one leader to the front of board and take different color of chalk, their task is torace to write an appropriate word next to each letter,teacher have to start word with “What do you want to be?” and learners write as many jobs as they can. Teammates help by shouting out or giving spelling tips, even can use different resources. After 4 minutes, teacher stops competitors and count the answers by color of chalks and congratulate the winners.

Introducing active vocabulary. Teacher shows flashcards of active vocabulary to allow learners to repeat after teacher one time.

then stick all flashcards on the board and remove one of them by queue then read others, and remove them one by one till the end, at the end learners read all active vocabulary without flashcards.

“Bottom up” strategy

Teacher divides class into three groups, then distributes learners a text in way of mixed paragraphs,learners have to put them orderly in groups and look through the whole text be ready for answer and ask questions according to the text. General questions are following:

Who does he do?

What is the main idea of the text?

What does he say about his friends?

Does he like his job? Why/Why not

Text is following:

For most people, a job means they get up at 7:00 am and drive to work by 8:30 or 9:00 am. Later, they have lunch at noon, and then they start work again at 1:00 pm. Finally, they finish work at about 5:00 pm and then go home and have dinner with their family.

That kind of job is okay for most people, but my job is special and I love it! I’m a commercial airline pilot. That means I don’t drive to work, I fly! In fact, I fly to many different destinations in the world and I have friends in many countries.
