Ask learners how many English letters do they know.

Read-aloud

The teacher will read aloud Chicka Chicka Boom Boom as the learners are seated on the floor or wherever your whole group space is located in your room.

When each letter is introduced in the story, the learners will repeat the name of each letter after the teacher.

The teacher will place each pre-cut letter on the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree as it is read in the story.

Ask students to make a prediction what they think will happen with all of the letters are in the treetop.

Complete the story and discuss the learners’ predictions

Upon conclusion of reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, play the ABC video and have each student repeat the letters in choral response.

Have students stand up, re-play the ABC video with the students singing along.

Call on each student to take the pre-cut letters from the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree in alphabetical order.
