Warm up

• Books closed. Write the following on the board:

It’s a great city. There are lots of things to do there.

• Combine the sentences, i.e. It’s a great city where there are lotsof things to do. Explain that the underlined word is a relativepronoun.

Practice

1 • Ask students to open their books at page 21.

• Tell students that the example sentences are from the

listening on page 20.

• Ask students to copy the sentences into their notebooks.Put students into pairs to choose the correct options andanswer the questions.

• Check answers.

• For further information and additional exercises, studentscan turn to page 115 of the Grammar reference section.
