-listen given text and put paragraphs correctly in order;

-ask and answer the questions by 5Ws method;

-write short story about past event with little prompts

Some learners will be able to:

-write short story about past event using new vocabulary;

Learners stand in a circle and wish warm wishes to each other.

(S-S)(W)(I) “Back to screen” video technique.

Learners watch a video about Chinese New Year. One of them seats in front of the board, he can’t watch a video, just listens. During the video he tries to understand what’s happens in the video and answers the other learners questions imaginatively.

Possible questions:

-What are you hearing now?

-What is happening now?

-What are they doing?

Then learner watches full version of the video and according to this teacher asks some question about lesson’s theme:

-What do you know about Chinese New Year?

-When do you celebrate New Year’s Day in your country?

Teacher clarifies and announces the topic and objectives of the lesson.

Teacher presents new words that they need in whole lesson, then ask them by choral and individual drill:

(T-S) (S-S) (W) (I, f) Listening task “What are the some special rules for Chinese New Year?”

(T-S) (W) Pre- listening task. Teacher asks some questions from learners for brainstorming using the “Thinking time” strategy. Teacher provides time between setting the question and requiring an answer. Sometimes alerting learners to the approach and the time available to develop an answer:

-What is your favorite celebration?

-What superstitions do you believe in?

-What do you do for good luck?

-What bright color do you like?

(T-S) (W) While- listening task. Teacher offers individual task for learners and they express their thoughts about Chinese New Year from the audio material.

(S-S) (I) Post- listening task.

Learners answer the questions through the “Phone a friend” strategy. Those who cannot answer are allowed to nominate a fellow learner to suggest an answer on their behalf, but they still have to provide their own answer, perhaps building on this.
