«The phenomenon of linguistic simplification in a diachronic aspect»

The widespread use of one language as an international means of communication in various fields could not but lead to transformational processes in this language itself. One of the most important consequences of these linguistic transformations is simplification, which manifests itself at various linguistic levels. Having begun artificially, with the aim of teaching English to foreigners (see, for example, the systems of G. Palmer and A. Hornby), on the basis of certain linguistic and methodological concepts, the process of simplifying the language in the context of its global distribution lost control. This project discusses the phenomenon of linguistic simplification in a diachronic aspect and analyzes some of the lexical and grammatical properties of English as an international language, prescribed by its new style.
