Student Initiative Approach: Partnership for Sustainable Development at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University plays an important role in promoting sustainable development in Kazakhstan and beyond.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University currently has more than 200 cooperation agreements with universities and organizations. KazNU actively participates in research in the field of sustainable development. The faculties and institutes of the university conduct research on various aspects of sustainable development, such as ecology, economics, social sciences, and technologies. Collaboration with international universities and organizations allows for the exchange of knowledge and experience in this field.

On February 21, 2024, first-year master's students of the specialty "7M02312-Foreign Philology" Akhmet U. O., Kazhiyakhmetova A. M., together with first-year students of the specialty "6B02303-Foreign Philology (Western Languages)", the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies, jointly with the advisor Ongarbayeva M.S., held a round table on the topic: "Partnership for Sustainable Development." This initiative by the students became an important step towards realizing the importance of partnership and collaboration in achieving the goals of sustainable development.

Students emphasized that partnership plays a key role in implementing sustainable development within and beyond the university context. They discussed the importance of collaboration among students, faculty, university administration, local communities, the business sector, and governmental organizations.

Partnership for sustainable development at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is a key element of the university's strategy for addressing contemporary challenges and preparing future leaders capable of addressing the problems of sustainable development. Collaboration with various stakeholders allows the university to actively contribute to public and scientific discussions and promote sustainable development not only in Kazakhstan but also on a global scale.
