Books closed. Do a quick revision activity with the class on the possessive s.

• Divide students into pairs and allow them 1 minute to tell each other three things about their families.

• After 1 minute, ask each student to tell the class one or two things about their partner’s family, e.g. Francisco’s brother is a student at university.

Exercise 1

• Draw students’ attention to the two girls and ask them to compare them in pairs. Get some feedback from the class and elicit that the two girls in the cartoon look identical and are wearing identical clothes. Elicit that they might be twins.

• Refer students to the incomplete sentences and ask them to find them in the text about the girl twins on page 34 in order to complete them. You could do the first one together with the students in a weaker class.

• Students check answers in pairs. Check answers as a class.

• Allow students some time to read the rules and to complete them, using the sentences in exercise 1 to help them.

• In a weaker class, ask students to complete the activity in pairs. Encourage students in a stronger class to do the task individually.

• Explain the task. In a stronger class, ask students to go ahead and do the task by themselves.

• Do the first one together in a weaker class as an example and ask the students to continue in pairs. Remind them to think carefully about the form of have in each sentence.

• Students check answers in pairs. Check answers as a class.

• Ask fast finishers to write three more sentences of their own using have got.
