Warm-up: “Pictionary”

Learners take pictures of cities in Kazakhstan in turns to use images to depict a word or phrase for other learners to guess.

Divide into two groups: “The East-The West” and “The South-The North”.

Learners divide by cities.

Pictures of cities: Ural, Atyrau, Aktobe,

Oskemen, Semei, Zaisan, Shymkent, Almaty,

Turkestan, Nur-Sultan,

Kokshetau, Kostanai.

Task 1. Group work: Make a poster. CLT

By teacher learners listen to text about “The sightseeing in Nur-Sultan” then teacher ask them to generate five words for history and sightseeing that link to a particular topic.

Task 2. Individually work: “Pass the Parcel”

Teacher wraps up an object in multiple layers of wrapping paper. Leaners pass the parcel around the room whilst the music is playing; once it stops the learner removes one of the layers. In each layer add questions or clues related to the topic that the learner must respond to before the parcel can be passed around again.
