Motivation and Its Role

Motivation is an internal impulse and it constitutes the backbone of learning process.

(Gökçe DİŞLEN ) If students aren’t motivated, it is difficult, if not impossible, to improve

their academic achievement .students may sometimes lose their willingness and interest

towards lesson, which puts a major barrier in front of effective learning .

It is important to find demotivating factors and try to alleviate their impacts on students

learning experience. the individual's demotivational stimuli are coming from within or

individual's demotivational stimuli are coming from outside.There are different reasons

for students demotivation. some of these reasons might be A) Students see little value in

the course or its content.,B) Students do not perceive the classroom climate as

supportive. C)Individual students may suffer from physical, mental, or other personal

problems that affect motivation. Mental or physical health problems, substance abuse,

and other personal problems can interfere with individual students’ motivation to exert

Teachers can increase students motivation to learn by informing students about learning

goals.Taking advantage of Media can be a component of active learning strategies.The

use of media to enhance teaching and learning .Using media engages students,

classroom environment comfortable and functional for learning to take place, so that
