"Steps towards environmental responsibility: an open lesson on climate change"

In today's world, the issues of ecology and environmental conservation are becoming more and more relevant. One of the key aspects in this context is climate change, which has a negative impact on the life of our planet. In order to teach the young generation the basics of environmental responsibility and to instil in them an understanding of the importance of combating climate change, an open lesson on "Combating Climate Change" was held. The event was planned by first year Master's students Tursynbay A.N. and Shuktayeva D.M., speciality "Foreign Philology" and third year students of speciality 6B02304-Translational Studies, with supervisors Aitmukhanbetova A.S. and Baieli A.Zh.

The lesson started with a brief introduction, in which the students were introduced to the purpose of the lesson and its structure. Then the master students started the theoretical part, where the main causes of climate change and its consequences were discussed. With the help of real-life examples and visual illustrations, the role of human activity in exacerbating the problem of climate change was demonstrated.

The students were then divided into groups for a practical work. As part of this work, students discussed and suggested various ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. An important aspect of this part of the lesson was to stimulate creative thinking and develop teamwork skills. The final part of the lesson was devoted to discussing the results of group work and summarising the knowledge gained. Students actively expressed their thoughts and ideas on combating climate change. They also received practical suggestions on how they can contribute to the problem both at the individual and community level.
