I think that you know a lot of food and drink. Can you name these words? But we’ll learn other food and drink in our lesson. May be you know some of them. Let’s introduce them.

Look at these words, listen , repeat first in chorus and then individually.

peas – a small, round, green seed or plant

baked beans – white beans cooked in tomato sauce and sold in tins

baked potato – cooked whole in its skin

grapes – a green, dark red or purlish-black berry

rice – small white or brown grains used for food

veggie burger – vegetarian’s burger

biscuits – a small light roll that is eaten as a part of a meal

pasta – a food made from a mixture of flour, water and sometimes eggs

barbecue – an outdoor meal or party at which meat, fish or other food is cooked over an open fire

sauce – a usually thick liquid poured over or mixed with food

soup – a liquid food made by cooking vegetables, meat or fish
