IV. Reading the text.

The tiger.

For many people, the tiger is the most beautiful and most exciting member of the cat family. But these fabulous creatures are in great danger. A hundred years ago, there were 100,000 tigers. They lived all over Asia. Today there are only 5,000.

In some countries, tigers mean ‘money'. People use the tiger's body to make medicine. So the local people hunt the tiger and sell its body. And the forests where tigers live are disappearing, so they are losing their natural homes too.

Organisations like the World Wide Fund For Nature are trying to save the tiger, but it isn't easy. If we aren't careful, they will soon be extinct. And then the power and beauty of the wild tiger will only exist in our memories.

Для многих людей, тигр - самый прекрасный и больше всего захватывающий член семьи кота. Но эти невероятные существа подвергаются большой опасности. Сотня годы назад, было 100,000 тигров. Они жили везде в Азии. Сегодня есть только 5,000.

В некоторых странах, скупые 'деньги' тигров. Люди пользуются телом тигра, чтобы сделать медицину. Так местные люди охотятся тигра и продают его тело. И леса, где тигры живут исчезают, так они теряют свои естественные дома так же.

Организации подобно Мировому Широкому Фонду Для Природы пробуют сохранить тигра, но это не легко. Если мы не осторожны, они скоро будут потухшими. А затем мощность и красота дикого тигра будут только существовать в нашей памяти.
